Whole Roast Chicken

This recipe is a superb example of how the EGG breathes magic into your meals. A simple chicken with a rub applied and then roasted within the EGG, delivers amazingly tasty results. - 4 lbs (1.8 kg) Whole Chicken
Rub
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) onion powder
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) salt
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) ground black pepper
- 2 1/2 tablespoons (38 ml) paprika
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) dried thyme

- Moisten with oil and then rub your bird with seasoning all over, including the cavity
- Stand your bird on the vertical chicken roaster and place on a round drip tray
- Set the bird on the Egg, set up for indirect cooking with the convEGGtor
- Cook for approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Remove from the Egg and let stand for 5 minutes before carving
