Grilling fruits gives them an amazing flavor and they can be used in so many ways to enhance both sweet and savory dishes. Grilling works so well and most fruits are basically made up of water and sugar and by grilling you concentrate the flavors by reducing the water and caramelizing the natural sugars. You can try any sort of fruit, just be careful with the softer ones such as peaches, plums, nectarines and mangoes that you don't overcook them and turn them mushy. This is desert is so easy to prepare, when you have finished your main course from the EGG, enjoyed your meal, let a little more heat back into the EGG by opening the vents, quickly wipe down the grill, if needed and you'll have a scrumptious dessert in just a few minutes.
Cut the top and bottom of the pineapple and remove the skin
Remove the eyes with a small paring knife
Cut your pineapple lengthways into 1 inch (3 cm) thick pieces, ensuring you have no core
Mix the marinade pieces together and marinade the pineapple for 1/2 hour or longer
Clean and lightly oil your grill
Add the pineapple and grill for approx. 5 minutes, turning once and ensuring that all pieces are brown and caramelized
While pineapple is cooking, heat the remaining marinade to slightly reduce to a syrup
Serve pineapple with double cram or creme freche and drizzle with the syrup
